Philippine Mission Update

Dragi prieteni,
Salutari dinTokyo!
Dupa cum stiti multi dintre voi, in perioada 2-9 Februarie sunt plecat intr-o calatorie misionara in Filipine impreuna cu un grup de Americani si de la Philadelphia cu Daniel Amariei.
Am plecat luni dimineata si dupa 13 ore de zbor am ajuns in Tokyo unde facem o escala de 3 ore. A fost o calatorie extrem de lunga si desigur obositoare. Ne asteapta inca 5 ore de zbor spre Manila.
Tara Soarelui Rasare din aeroport nu pare stralucita…
Pe zborul de la Chicago la Tokyo mi-am propus sa-mi indeplinesc o dorinta pe care am avut-o de ceva timp: sa citesc lejer o carte de fictiune, o nuvela (roman). In tinerete am citit mii de nuvele, insa in ultimii ani am citit aproape in exclusivitate doar carti de specialitate, teologice si asa mai departe. Carti pe care a trebuit sa le citesc pentru formare, informare, pregatire si devotiune.
Am ales un roman recent publicat in engleza si care a devenit foarte popular: “The Shack: Where Tragedy Confronts Eternity” de Wm. Paul Young. Am citit-o pe nerasuflate incit nici nu stiu cum au trecut 13 ore. Mai am citeva pagini. Va recomand cartea celor care doriti sa cititi o carte de fictiune cu tema crestina. Multi critici o compara cu The Progress of the Pilgrim by Bunyan.
Va multumesc tuturor pentru support su rugaciunile necontenite.

Pastor Florin Cimpean

Our Pastor: Florin Cimpean
Florin was born in Romania and grew up as a 4th generation Pentecostal. His father and 2 of his brothers are also COG pastors. Florin is hapily married to Michelle and they have two beautiful kids, Anthony 6 and Abigail 5. He graduated from the Seminary in Bucharest and pursued a Master of Divinity at COG Teological Seminary in Cleveland, TN. Upon graduation he was accepted in the PHD program at Vanderbilt University where he also taught different New Testament courses.
His pastoral experience includes tenures in Romania and USA. While in Nashville, Florin and Michelle founded and pastored Bethel Romanian Church of God. In 2001, at 31, Florin was elected Senior Pastor of Philadelphia Romanian Church of God in Chicago, one of the largest Romanian churches in USA. He also founded Ekklesia Bible College where he teaches and serves as Academic Director.
Currently Florin serves as Chairman of the Church of God Romanian Territorial Board.
Florin and his family are passionate for God, his people and world missions
